The large weekly market every Sunday in Venda da Costa is also known as Santana Market and is signposted on the route. It is the largest market in the region and attracts many Portuguese (and tourists) from the surrounding area every week. They come there to do their shopping: fruit and vegetables, live chickens and rabbits, clothes, shoes, hardware, garden tools, hay, plants and trees: you can’t think of it and it’s there. But you can also go there for a tasty simple lunch (hot meat sandwich) or a cup of coffee. In short: highly recommended!
Tip: go as early as possible, because at 10 o’clock there is hardly any parking space left.
